Hike / Walk - Guided Trips
A guided Vermont hiking or walking trip is a perfect adventure for people who want an active, challenging, and rewarding vacation experience while meeting others with similar interests. Our groups are small - not larger than twelve. We enjoy Vermont's best trails per day, often with options for longer or shorter hikes, making each day rewarding for everyone. Each trip includes a variety of scenery and terrain, ranging from secluded glacial lakes to panoramic views from more challenging mountain paths. Evenings are spent around a centerpiece dinner at a welcoming Vermont country inn with its own distinct personality. Our experienced interpretive naturalist guides add knowledge, interest, and value to your Vermont vacation.

Guided Hiking Trips for 2008
Mothers' Day Wildflower Walk ~ May 11 - 14, 2008 A perfect short trip: three nights, three charming inns, pleasant scenes of Spring and Vermont's own forty shades of green. During Springtime in Vermont, Nature's reawakening is our daily entertainment as we walk the woodland trails. Patches of whimsical Dutchman's Breeches and fragrant Trailing Arbutus adorn our paths. Listen for the musical Rose-breasted Grosbeak or the haunting melody of the Wood Thrush overhead. Our guides on this trip are local naturalists with extensive knowledge of Vermont's wildflower life and bird species. After a first night at the Champlain Valley's Shoreham Inn, move along to the Green Mountains. Enjoy the lovely door-to-door hike in the hidden valley from Churchill House to Blueberry Hill. Multi-course dinners, comfortable lodging, convivial innkeepers, flexible guides, and the splendor and sweetness of Vermont reawakening to Spring are hallmarks of this excursion.

Columbus Day at the Churchill House ~ October 10-13, 2008 Traditionally, Columbus Day marks the height of fall foliage in our part of Vermont: we hope but cannot guarantee that Mother Nature will keep her appointment again this year! This unique hub experience - three nights at one inn - minimizes the packing and unpacking and allows you to "settle inn" and enjoy the original "inn along the trail" that started our program in 1975. Our guides, Vermonters themselves, will lead you on 6-8 miles of hiking daily, tailored to the wishes of you and your fellow hikers. Four-course dinners from the inn's own organic garden, the crisp brightness of Autumn air, the scent of woodsmoke in the hearths, the unrivaled antique patina of a century-old Vermont country inn ... all the ingredients for classic Vermont memories.
